THE ROLE
The Food Runner is the engine room of a great dinner service — and at The Riverhouse we know it. We're looking for a fast-moving, team-first Food Runner who takes genuine pride in getting hot food to the right table at the right time and loves being part of a high-energy, high-performing floor team.
This is one of the best entry-level positions in Big Sky hospitality — you'll learn the rhythm of a busy restaurant operation, build relationships with the whole team, and develop skills that translate into every corner of the hospitality industry.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables accurately and efficiently
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and server teams to ensure smooth, timely service
- Verify order accuracy before delivering to guests — every plate, every time
- Maintain awareness of table status and service flow throughout the dining room
- Assist servers with table maintenance, refills, and guest needs as needed
- Keep service areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout service
- Support the team during high-volume rushes with a positive, can-do attitude
- Learn the menu thoroughly to answer basic guest questions with confidence
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required — we'll train the right person
- Physical stamina — this role keeps you moving for the duration of every shift
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Strong team mentality — you understand that the win belongs to everyone
- Clear, confident communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts during peak season
- A positive attitude that holds up when the tickets are stacking and the dining room is full
